City firm Macfarlanes has announced the promotion of nine new partners – three more than last year. Six of the new partners are female. Macfarlanes said the expertise of the new cohort reflects the ‘diverse strengths of our firm’.
Practice groups corporate and merger and acquisitions and private client both saw the largest intake of new partners. with two new partners each.
The promotions come into effect on 1 April and will see Pinar Celebi (finance) Iskra Doukova (private client), Caja Griesenbach (competition), Greg James (corporate and M&A), Sarah Ling (tax and reward), Sindhuja Shriananda (real estate), Mark Stichbury (private client), Alice Temkin (corporate and M&A) and Jacob Ward (litigation and dispute resolution) take up partnership.

Last year the Holborn-headquartered firm promoted six partners, a fall from 2023 and 2022 when Macfarlanes made up eight. Five partners were appointed in 2021.
