Police in South Wales have charged a law firm owner with attempted murder following a reported incident involving a younger man.
Officers were called on 23 June following reports of a stabbing in the village of Baglan, close to Port Talbot. Kevin Lane, 65, has been charged with attempted murder and been remanded in custody.
Detective Inspector Gareth Jones, of South Wales Police, confirmed that a 31-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment of a suspected stab wound. His injuries were not life-threatening and he has since been released from hospital.
The police have said that both parties were known to each other and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
The BBC has reported that the alleged victim was one of Lane’s colleagues, solicitor Rory McCreesh, 31, who was found injured at the scene.
Lane is believed to be the founder and owner of Port Talbot firm Kevin Lane & Co. He has more than 35 years’ experience in private law and specialises in property work.
Lane was remanded to appear at Swansea Crown Court on 25 July.
