The House of Commons Justice Committee has announced an inquiry into the operation of the family courts.
It has called for written evidence addressing four issues: the effect of CAFCASS’s (Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service) operations on court proceedings; the impact on court proceedings and access to justice of recent and proposed legal aid changes; the role, operation and resourcing of alternative dispute resolution; and confidentiality and openness in the courts.
Submissions should be no longer than 3,000 words and sent in a word document or rich text format by email to justicecommemo@parliament.uk.
The deadline for submissions is 13 September.
