Yorkshire firm Gordons LLP has said it is 'deeply saddened' to announce the death on 22 December of partner Bryony Goldspink. She had been living with cancer for over a year.
'After initial treatment, [Bryony] bravely returned to work in April to resume her role as a highly valued member of the employment team,' the firm said. 'She worked up to just before Christmas when she suffered a stroke from which she was unable to recover.'
Goldspink started her training contract with Gordons in September 2007, qualifying into the employment team in September 2009. She became a partner in April 2022.
'In her early career, Bryony quickly settled into a role where she advised in relation to all aspects of employment law, becoming a very successful advocate and appearing in employment tribunals, across the country, representing employers of all types,' Gordons added. 'She built up a particular specialisation in equal pay litigation involving clients in the retail sector. However, Bryony’s preferred expertise was in the corporate field, where she was involved in numerous and varied mergers and acquisitions.
'Bryony always provided invaluable support, clarity and advice to clients and her colleagues. The firm will remember Bryony for her unfailing positivity and smiling personality even in the most challenging of times.'
Gordons said it has lost a 'great friend, colleague, partner and very talented lawyer'.
Goldspink leaves a husband, Nick, and sons Jonah and Flynn.
