A law firm has launched a subscription scheme to protect companies against the potentially ‘catastrophic’ costs arising from employment disputes.

Coventry firm Band Hatton’s ‘Employment Protection Scheme’ (EPS) charges a set annual fee, which can be paid monthly to provide client businesses of all sizes with unlimited employment law advice.

Band Hatton associate solicitor Mark Ridley said: ‘Damages for discrimination cases are not capped, so employers could be looking at bills for tens of thousands of pounds in addition to substantial legal fees and court costs – the consequences of which can be catastrophic.

'The EPS eliminates this fear as employers can now forecast exactly how much they need to budget for matters of employment law 12 months in advance.’

The EPS fee is calculated following an audit of a business’s employment policies and practices.

Employers also have the option of signing up to an insurance scheme to cover compensation awards.
