In his letter of 6 May pertaining to the Comment piece by Andrea Minichiello Williams, ‘Equality law is victimising Christians’, Charlie Klendjian does not appear to have as full a grasp of the facts as he claims.

First, the Queen, despite her Coronation Oath, has done nothing to ‘Defend the Faith’ during her time on the throne.

In fact, the last 50 years have seen an unchallenged assault on English Christianity by aggressive secularists and not a word of protest has come from the Palace.

Second, the lords spiritual comprise 26 out of 738 lords in the House of Lords, so their influence is negligible.

More to the point, these 26 Church of England bishops have aided and abetted the aggressive secular attack by acquiescing to every demand for reform of Church thinking.

Hence, the diluted Gospel message that the Church of England espouses today.

Third, Lord Justice Laws is a serial offender when it comes to undermining Christianity.

No-one who states, as he has done, that ‘religious faith is necessarily subjective, being incommunicable by any kind of proof or evidence’ is a devout Christian.

He must never have read the Bible or studied the history of the Roman Empire, for the events of the New Testament took place, and are recorded, in that history.

There is ample evidence if one chooses to seek it out.
