Fieldfisher has announced the recruitment of Hazel Grant as partner and the new head of its privacy team, which is top-ranked and one of the largest in Europe.
She is a leading data protection lawyer with a vast amount experience in this area, which is acknowledged by clients and the market. Hazel will be joining Fieldfisher on Tuesday 26 August.
Hazel joins from Bristows LLP where she has been a partner since 2009. Previously she had been a partner at Bird & Bird for nine years.
As a data protection specialist, Hazel advises on data protection compliance strategies (planning international data transfers using EU model clauses and binding corporate rules), as well as the implementation of privacy-compliant technologies and processes.
Her data protection work includes advising on cloud computing, big data projects and data security breaches. Additionally, she advises on responses to freedom of information requests and handling subject access requests.
Hazel regularly speaks internationally on EU Data Privacy matters including the proposed reform of EU data protection law.
Her clients include multinational technology corporations, the UK government, security consultants and mobile health device companies.
