Law firm Devonshires has promoted James Dunn to lead its litigation and dispute resolution team.
Dunn, who joined the firm as a trainee 24 years ago, has worked on behalf of regulators, housing associations and veterans. He is regularly instructed by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and has also represented over 100 former soldiers in investigations, inquests and prosecutions relating to the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
He takes over the role from Devonshires' senior partner Philip Barden, who headed the 19-strong team for 26 years.
Dunn commented: 'I’ve already enjoyed a long and successful career at Devonshires, seeing the firm grow fivefold since I started. Philip has created a strong and ambitious team in litigation and dispute resolution and I am looking forward to this latest chapter in my Devonshires career and growing the team further.'
Barden says: 'I can think of no one better suited to take over the team. James is at the very top of his game and sets a fine example for those he leads. I wish him all the best.'
