The commercial team at Walker Morris continues to grow with the appointments of associates Sam Cooper and Rebecca Hastings-Quainoo. These latest appoints bring the total to five appointments in the last year.

Sam joined the team from Riverview Law and Rebecca joined from DLA Piper and both bring with them a wealth of expertise in advising on, preparing and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts for clients in a range of sectors including: telecoms, financial services, food, retail, manufacturing, sports and technology.

The announcement follows the appointment of head of commercial, James Crayton, as a major lateral hire last year. James joined the team from DLA Piper where he specialised in complex commercial transactions with a track record of acting for major corporates on their key commercial deals across a range of sectors. His breadth of experience encompasses the spectrum of contracting arrangements, with particular focus on supply agreements for both goods and services, logistics services contracts, framework agreements and join ventures.

The team has also continued to demonstrate its investment in talented individuals with its recent announcement of the promotion of Lee Crook to senior associate level and in September Charlotte Radcliffe and Aaron Dixon will qualify into the team.

James Crayton commented: ’The commercial team has had a focus on recruiting and investing in highly talented individuals who offer the highest calibre, leading edge lawyers, with strong commercial awareness and who understand our clients’ business needs.’

’These appointments demonstrate our commitment to growing the commercial team by careful selection of the very best people. Both Sam and Rebecca are a great fit with the team and their appointments will enhance our capability in this area, enabling Walker Morris to be recognised as a leading player in the field of commercial law.’

The commercial team now comprises seven specialist commercial lawyers that are able to provide a depth of resource and expertise in dealing with complex commercial law transactions. The team advises on a full range of matters including drafting, negotiating and reviewing supply of goods and services contracts, franchise agreements, agency and distribution agreements and corporate support in respect of company trading arrangements.

Earlier this year the team was presented with a number of awards including: UK Commercial Law Firm of the Year - ACQ5 Gobal Awards and Best Commercial Law Firm UK - Wealth & Finance International Awards.
