National law firm Weightmans has appointed specialist corporate and healthcare partner Mike Clifford.
Clifford acts for major corporates, private companies and investors on their mergers and acquisitions, joint venture, due diligence and re-organisation mandates. He has particular experience in providing corporate and commercial legal services to private, public and third sector organisations in the healthcare and care industries.
Working closely with Weightmans’ national health and care team, Clifford is heading up the firm’s private health and care practice.
Clifford will be working closely with Sarah Knight, who joined the firm in January. Knight is a solicitor advocate and specialist in healthcare regulatory law.
Clifford said: 'The health and care sectors continue to undergo significant change as they constantly flex and adapt to meet the competing demands of a nation growing older and living with more chronic conditions, the NHS having to provide increasing amounts with less resources, significant and widening workforce gaps within the sectors.
'I’m aiming to bring my expertise to bear to assist our clients address both the challenges and opportunities presented by these changes. I am delighted to join a firm that shares that ambition and I look forward to working with my colleagues from across the UK in enhancing our reputation as one of the UK’s pre-eminent health and care law firms.'
