Global firm Reed Smith today announced the appointment of Nick Harris as a partner in its London Real Estate practice.
Nick joins from Mishcon de Reya, where he has been a legal director in the firm’s real estate department since 2015.
Nick’s area of focus is commercial real estate, with a particular emphasis on complex development work and high-value investment sales and acquisitions. He is also a keen supporter of innovation within the industry and recently served as a mentor to Orbital Witness, a proptech start-up company.
Prior to joining Mishcon de Reya, Nick worked for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), where he was responsible for the property, utilities and other operational contracts relating to LOCOG’s occupation and running of the Olympic Park and Athletes’ Village.
Today he represents a broad range of clients, from private investors and entrepreneurs to developers, property companies and occupiers, across the office, residential, retail and leisure sectors.
Clients Nick has acted for include Almacantar, Berkeley Homes, Commercial Estates Group, Napier Capital Management, The Kingdom of the Netherlands and TK Maxx.
Jimmy Theodorou, partner and co-head of Reed Smith’s Real Estate practice, commented on the appointment: 'We are excited to have Nick on board in London. He has a distinguished client list that mirrors ours, particularly in the development sphere. Our Real Estate practice now comprises more than 160 lawyers globally, allowing us to provide tailored advice and develop solutions for a full range of real estate matters – be they local, regional or international - across four continents.'
Andrew Jenkinson, London office managing partner, added: 'We are dedicated to the continuing expansion of our London office and Nick will be a true asset to the team here. His appointment marks the third new partner appointed in the Real Estate group over the last 12 months in London alone. We very much look forward to welcoming him.'
