Law firm Hugh James has appointed senior corporate partner Andrew Hoad to its City office.
Hoad has over 23 years’ experience dealing with corporate transactions including acquisitions and disposals, private and public equity fundraising and shareholder restructuring.
He has worked as a corporate lawyer for firms including Nabarro Nathanson, as well as establishing boutique corporate law practices, where he has been involved in building client rosters from scratch.
Hoad has built up a particular focus advising the technology sector – including software consultancies and high-tech manufacturers. He has also developed specialist expertise in advising on disposals to Employee Ownership Trusts - a unique type of business structure, introduced in 2014, which is becoming an increasingly attractive succession option for SMEs and family businesses.
Hoad commented: 'I’m really excited to be joining such a dynamic, commercial firm, and I look forward to supporting Hugh James’s continued growth in London and the south-east – an area I know well and have a good network of contacts.'
Partner and head of the corporate and commercial team, Gerallt Jones, said: 'Andrew brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise, which our clients will undoubtedly benefit from. His specialist areas of focus complement the excellent team we already employ and builds on the firm’s excellent reputation built up over decades. Having specialist Partners embedded and working within our London office in the Square Mile, makes us even better placed to provide the trusted, commercial and pragmatic advice that’s needed at such a critical time for business.'
