Eversheds Sutherland has welcomed new pensions partner Georgina Rankin to its human resources practice group.
Georgina, who has specialised in advising both corporate sponsors and trustees of occupational pension plans for almost 20 years, joins the firm’s 16-strong Birmingham pensions team from Squire Patton Boggs.
Georgina’s expertise covers a broad range of pensions law work, including, most recently, advice on a merger project that created a pension scheme with an asset value in excess of £1bn, and on a buy-out project with multiple insurance companies.
Other experience comprises assisting with pension scheme closures (from both the corporate and trustee perspective) and dealing with the implications of corporate transactions for the trustee and pension scheme sponsor. Georgina has also enjoyed acting as the long-term legal advisor to a number of pension schemes within the university sector.
Georgina joins Eversheds Sutherland pension team to help further develop its pensions investment capability. Her extensive experience in advising on legal documentation in relation to multi-million pound investments by pension schemes, complements her new role.
