Further expanding its global energy platform, Pillsbury has welcomed highly-regarded Gavin Watson as partner in its London office.
Watson, who advises clients on cross-border corporate and commercial transactions in jurisdictions around the world, comes to the firm from Dechert LLP where he was Co-Head of the International Oil & Gas Group.
Watson focuses on the development and financing of energy and infrastructure, particularly in connection with oil and gas, LNG, refinery, petrochemical and pipeline projects. Having advised sovereigns, governments, owners, developers, investors, financiers and export credit agencies, his experience spans Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, where he practiced for many years.
’Gavin’s breadth of experience in energy- and infrastructure-related transactions will be enormously beneficial to our oil & gas, LNG and petrochemical clients around the world,’ said James Campbell, head of Pillsbury’s London-based Corporate & Securities practice. ’He’s a talented lawyer with an expansive skill set, extensive familiarity with global markets and a sterling reputation. We’re very pleased and excited that he has decided to join us.’
Watson has been consistently recognised by Chambers Global, Legal 500 EMEA and Euromoney as a leading lawyer for corporate and commercial work. In feedback, clients have described him as ’outstanding,’ ’enormously valuable’ and ‘super-smart’ with an ability to provide ‘very good, practical, commercial advice.’
‘Pillsbury offers me a wonderful platform from which to serve clients, particularly on the energy side, where the firm is considered to be among the very best,’ Watson said. ’The London office and the firm as a whole are on a very exciting trajectory and I look forward to playing a leading role in continuing and building on that success.’
