International law firm DAC Beachcroft is pleased to announce the appointment of high-profile insurance law expert Edmundo Agramunt in its Chilean office.
Edmundo has been with the Chilean arm of global insurer MAPFRE – a client of the firm - for the last 23 years, acting as the company’s head of legal in the jurisdiction for the last 17 years. Specialising in insurance and reinsurance, litigation and arbitration and corporate law, Edmundo has been involved in many of the most significant insurance cases in Chile in recent years. He joins DAC Beachcroft as a consultant this month.
In addition to his work with MAPFRE, Edmundo teaches insurance law at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile and at Universidad de Los Andes. He is also co-author of the key insurance law textbook ‘El contrato de Seguros’, published in 2015.
DAC Beachcroft Chile began its operations in 2012, in the process becoming the first European-based law firm to have a presence in the Latin American country. In addition to Chile, DAC Beachroft now has a presence in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru as well as a hub in Miami, all of which work together to share best practice and meet mutual clients’ key business needs in Latin America.
