National specialist law firm Arc Pensions Law has hired Sonya Fraser as partner in its London office.
Fraser, who joins from Sackers, supports both trustees and employers operating defined benefit and defined contribution workplace pension schemes. She advises on day-to-day pensions issues, such as new legal developments, pensions tax, member queries, trustee duties and discretions, valuation negotiations and interpretation of scheme rules.
Senior partner Anna Rogers commented: 'We are delighted to welcome Sonya to the team. Her wealth of experience, particularly in relation to buy-ins and buyouts, will be invaluable to our clients as we see more and more schemes approaching endgame.'
Arc Pensions Law has also appointed Leeds-based partner Kate Payne as managing partner.
Payne, who will replace Rosalind Connor, said: 'I am excited to be stepping into this new role, and I look forward to steering Arc through this period of growth. Pensions as an industry is ever evolving, and schemes face legal issues at every turn. Our firm is designed to deliver the robust and forward-looking advice for which we are known.'
