Bell Pottinger has appointed Antony Dunkels as associate partner in its crisis and litigation team, strengthening a growing area of the group’s business.
As a barrister at Furnival and Garden Court Chambers, Antony primarily appeared as defence counsel in criminal matters, specialising in serious and complex fraud, asset forfeiture and serious violent and gang crime. Antony also worked as a lawyer at the Financial Conduct Authority on the FX benchmark-fixing investigation.
He left the bar in 2013 and has since worked in communications for Emanate PR and most recently Hudson Sandler; aligning his in-depth legal knowledge with clients’ strategic communication objectives.
Stuart Leach, managing director of Bell Pottinger crisis and litigation, said: ‘Antony is a great addition to the team. His mix of skills are exactly what a growing litigation support service requires, continuing our drive to build this offering.’
Antony Dunkels said: ‘I am really pleased to be joining the crisis and litigation team at Bell Pottinger. I have considerable experience on the front line of highly contentious and sensitive litigation and I am looking forward to using all the skills I acquired at the criminal bar defending the reputations of clients at Bell Pottinger.’
