International firm Pinsent Masons has cut nearly 80 personal assistant roles from its UK offices.
A spokesperson for the firm told the Gazette: ’We can confirm that the firm has concluded its consultation, resulting in 78 voluntary redundancies across our UK offices in line with expectation’.
The firm kicked off a redundancy consultation in September and said up to 100 secretarial jobs could be lost.
The spokesperson added: ‘There were no compulsory redundancies. While it is always disappointing to see colleagues move on, we are confident that the steps we have taken are in the long-term interests of the business. We would like to thank all of our colleagues for their continued dedication during what has been an uncertain time.’
The latest round of redundancies among support staff follows similar moves from other City firms.
In August, insurance litigation firm BLM said it would cut 50 roles among its support and secretarial staff. Earlier this year, magic circle Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer offered voluntary redundancy to London-based support staff.
