Mr Justice Birss has expressed the view that lawyers had better get used to unrepresented litigants acting alone online.

The learned judge needs to know that we are already used to the unfair position in the civil courts, where the burden of procedural work is often ordered to fall upon the solicitor for the represented party, with his or her client carrying the extra cost.

The learned judges also need to face the possibility that if online justice can work without lawyers, why should it not work without judges too?
