On the subject of bad manners and rudeness in correspondence from solicitors (often to other solicitors), I am reminded of some advice given to me many years ago when I was an articled clerk.
Remember what Lord Cardigan told his son when he asked his father how to compose a love letter: consider what it would sound like read out in court.
