Pro bono disappointment
There appears to be no mention or perhaps no awareness of the fact that it is legal aid firms who do the vast majority of pro bono in this country, unnoticed.

In her article ‘Should pro bono be compulsory?’, Lia Moses refers to the New York State Bar requirement for all lawyers to carry out 50 hours of pro bono work before qualifying. Maybe even qualified solicitors should do 50 hours per annum? She urges us to fill in the questionnaire.

Government should have been more sophisticated on squatters
The article about changes in the law relating to squatters elicited a cascade of comments from my colleagues. They were polarised – from those supporting householders to a few supporting squatters.
