A pigeon alights on Obiter’s window ledge with the news that tomorrow (11 November) is national no-email day. Web guru Paul Lancaster says the idea is not to abolish email but to ignore it for 24 hours and ‘do something more productive with the time saved’. This could simply involve other forms of communication, like actually talking to someone face to face, picking up the phone or ‘even writing a letter’.

The fact that Lancaster regards writing a letter as such an oddity suggests he hasn’t had many dealings with the legal world, but Obiter would love to know if any readers joined the campaign. Replies by email to obiter@lawsociety.org.uk, obviously.
