Leeds University Law School’s team narrowly beat City University Law School in the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting’s annual mooting competition. In the finals, held at the Law Society, the mooting problem focused on a Court of Appeal case concerning a possible murder charge over a decision to withhold treatment from one baby to save another baby’s life.

Competition judges Michael Franks, Keith Etherington and Simon Harker announced Marika Kinsey and Jane Gordois (pictured) the winners after the ‘most deliberation ever in a mooting competition’, saying that ‘skeletons, bundles, logic and perseverance prevailed’. Visit the website.
