If you thought the Women’s Institute was all about making jam and cakes, think again.

Members of the WI took part in protests against legal aid cuts last week, demonstrating the extent to which the campaign has now moved beyond just lawyers.

The WI was joined by representatives from The Fawcett Society, Refuge, the Women’s Resource Centre, the End Violence Against Women Coalition, Women’s Aid England, and Rights of Women.

The groups are concerned that women, and particularly those who are victims of domestic violence, will be disproportionately affected by the cuts.
