There must be plenty of lawyers out there who dream of escaping the daily grind to become a singer-songwriter. So all credit to Teresa Disken (pictured), with her ‘Cherokee blood and Irish soul’, who left a commercial law job at City Hall to record Venus and the Director, and promptly sent it in to us for review. With lyrics like ‘She’s the girl with the pretty face/working hard in an office space’, and ‘she takes some calls and checks her mail/she makes a coffee, she’s in a whirl’, you can’t help thinking that she still hasn’t quite left the day job behind.
