The Law Society has organised a meeting between Chris Grayling and specialist criminal legal aid solicitors ‘in order to provide practitioners with an opportunity to discuss their views face-to-face’ with the justice secretary.
Representatives from the Criminal Law Solicitors’ Association, London Criminal Courts Solicitors’ Association, Legal Aid Practitioners Group and others have been invited to attend.
The Society stressed that the meeting, at Chancery Lane on 13 November, will provide an opportunity for frontline criminal lawyers to discuss in detail the proposals in the Transforming Legal Aid: Next Steps consultation.
