Mishcon de Reya has announced the appointment of Stephen Coleclough, the current president of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, as a consultant to the firm as it continues to invest in and develop its tax offering.
A leading industry figure with over 30 years’ experience working in tax and law, Stephen joined Mishcon on 6 January. His appointment comes just weeks after the firm announced that it had restructured its tax offering, launching a consolidated practice that encompasses all related services, including: real estate tax; corporate tax, and private tax and wealth planning.
In addition to his role as president of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Stephen is a member of David Gauke’s Tax Professionals Forum, which advises the government on tax policy and implementation. In December 2012, he completed a four-year presidency of the Confederation Fiscal Européenne.
Stephen said: “This is an exciting time to be joining Mishcon’s tax practice and I am looking forward to being part of the team. Increasingly Mishcon’s clients do not distinguish between the tax needs of the individual and the large businesses they own and run. My experience perfectly complements the practice’s focus and I believe I can play a valuable role in its development”.
Mishcon has also appointed solicitor Tatiana Sidneva, who specialises in advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals on international tax matters.
Tatiana is an English- and Russian-speaking lawyer - admitted in England and Wales, New York and Russia - with substantial experience in private wealth management, family office and general corporate matters. She joins from ALM Services UK Ltd (the family office of a UHNW individual), and has previously worked at White & Case and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton.
