Justice minister Caroline Dinenage today insisted she had suffered an injustice of her own as she was said to be 'absolutely furious' at being included in a list of expenses non-payers.

Gosport MP Dinenage, who was appointed to the Ministry of Justice only in May, appears in a list published today by the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority of MPs with minor unpaid business costs.

Dinenage apparently owes £13.50 for office telephone rental and usage but despite being contacted ‘several times’ by IPSA, the money has yet to materialise.

A weary-sounding IPSA said it has wiped off Dinenage’s sum – along with debts of 25 other MPs ‘where it is not cost-effective for IPSA to pursue recovery any further’.

But according to the Portsmouth News, Dinenage was ‘absolutely furious’ to have made the list. ‘It is really upsetting,’ she told the paper. ‘I am so meticulous with my expenses so when I found out, I was furious.

‘IPSA have confirmed to me it was a mistake and they are removing my name.’

As of 4pm on Thursday, Dinenage’s name was still on the IPSA list. Perhaps she should give them a ring to remind them?
