Your article ‘Interpreter disruption dragging on’ gave a helpful update about the ongoing farce occurring in courtrooms.

The disruption caused by the issue of interpreters not attending court, being late or providing low quality interpretation wastes money and valuable time. Everything you wrote highlights the fact that the current situation, with the Ministry of Justice using one language provider, is not working.

Surely it would be more effective for local courts to use local language agencies to book local interpreters. That way, there is a reliable and consistent pool of interpreters and, should an interpreter not turn up, the local agent can work quickly to find a replacement.
